Elm Creek - Red River, TX Lake Report on 14th May, 2025

Bass fishing on Lake O.H. Ivie continues to deliver solid results as we move into mid-May. Water levels are stable, and clarity remains fair, especially in the main lake and near Elm Creek Marina. Surface temps are sitting in the low 70s, creating ideal conditions for active largemouth bass. Anglers are reporting consistent bites in shallow water during early mornings, especially near flooded brush and rocky points. Topwater lures and frogs are producing some impressive early strikes. As the day progresses, switching to soft plastics or jigs in 10–20 feet of water has proven effective. Live sonar is helping track suspended bass near deeper structure. Several fish over 7 pounds have been caught this week, with a few double-digit bass reported by guides and locals. If you're planning a trip soon, now is a great time to hit the water. The bite is strong, the weather is mild, and Lake O.H. Ivie bass fishing is living up to its reputation as one of Texas’ most productive lakes.
